In my last blog post, I wrote about the deeply personal standalone novel I’ve been working on for (cough) three years now. Well, folks, I’m still working on it. Several trusted friends and great readers, many of whom have read early versions of most of my books, have read it and gave me valuable input. At long last, it was in shape to send to Dana Isaacson, my cherished longtime editor who, with his tremendous instincts and keen eye, gave it a thorough scrubbing. And he heaped praise on it, which made all the hard work completely worth it. I’m working through his notes now and making, hopefully, the last major revisions.

This book has continually surprised and challenged me. I’m writing it on spec, without a publisher contract. I felt I had to write it that way, letting the book find its own path and in its own time.

Please stay tuned. Hang in there with me. Thank you for your interest in my work.
